Brandon Medical Celebrates Third Innovation Award

Brandon Medical have been awarded Yorkshire Regional Winners at the Chamber Awards 2009.

The Innovation through Technology award acknowledges Brandon's innovative tele-healthcare system and HD-LED medical lighting range.

This is the third Innovation award received by Brandon this year; the other two were awarded at the Medilink Healthcare Business Awards and Yorkshire's International Business Convention.

Brandon's Symposia tele-healthcare systems have been installed at two high tech surgical training centres at University Hospital's Coventry & Warwickshire and Newcastle's Freeman's Hospital. The UK's Chief Medical Officer, Sir Liam Donaldson comments:

"I am pleased to see surgical training enhanced by the smart use of modern technology. Simulation centres offer great promise allowing surgeons to develop their skills in a safe and controlled environment. I look forward to seeing such technology used more widely in surgery, as well as in other medical specialties."

Brandon's latest development is Quasar HD-LED. This is the only medical lighting to give full colour rendition across the entire colour spectrum. This enhances colour clarity especially in the red part of the colour spectrum, allowing surgeons to easily differentiate between similar red coloured tissues. The medical lighting range has also been developed to fit with the NHS' new carbon emissions target.

Brandon Medicals Managing Director, Graeme Hall comments:

"Providing innovative solutions for our customers lies at the heart of Brandon Medical. We are delighted to have our innovative tele-healthcare and HD-LED medical lighting recognised in this way."

Brandon Medical have also been short-listed for the EEF Innovation Award, the Yorkshire Post Innovation Awards and the British Chambers of Commerce Awards taking place later this year.
