HRH The Princess Royal visited Brandon Medical, the Leeds based medical technology specialist, on Wednesday 9thJuly.

The visit marked the official opening of Brandon Medical’s new premises; a facility which has more than doubled their operating capacity. The princess was invited to try out Brandon’s impressive portfolio of products in the state of the art visitor centre, followed by a tour of the factory and finally onto the grand plaque unveil.

Brandon’s new facilities are a huge leap forward for the company. The innovative centre features a demonstration operating theatre, ICU and GP Surgery which allows the company to showcase their OT lighting, examination lighting and medical architectural systems in a realistic setting.  Other facilities include on-site research and development labs which have allowed all design and prototyping work to be brought in house and significantly increased manufacturing capabilities. The company is aiming to consolidate all design, production and sales of their medical equipment into one location and by doing so, hope to create jobs in the surrounding area.

On the opening Graeme Hall, Managing Director commented: “It was a joy to welcome Princess Anne to Brandon Medical. We enjoyed the opportunity to demonstrate how our technologies are improving the everyday lives of healthcare professionals across the globe and how our achievements have allowed us to relocate to such a fantastic new facility.”
