A light that does more than illuminate
Quasar Qi combines high-performance surgical illumination with sensing, visibility and connectivity. The result is a platform that helps the team see the surgical field clearly, control the light intuitively and, on appropriately specified iSense configurations, make otherwise invisible environmental conditions visible at the point of care.
For Quasar Qi, “intelligence” means useful information: data gathered from the surgical environment and presented in a form that can support timely human decisions or, where systems are integrated and configured to do so, automated control loops. It is not an AI claim.
Two technology clusters, one platform
iLite is the optical foundation of Quasar Qi. It brings together wide, uniform illumination, strong depth of illumination, Red Boost, Comfort Halo, multi-light intensity awareness and model-specific shadow-management capabilities.
iSense is the sensing and control technology cluster. It is designed to make environmental and surgical-space conditions visible. The exact capability set varies by model; Qi60 carries the full environmental sensing suite described across the iSense pages.
Designed around the surgical team
Quasar Qi is engineered to reduce unnecessary interaction with equipment. The platform uses intuitive controls, stable positioning and clear status information so the light supports the procedure rather than becoming another source of interruption.
Across the range, high colour rendering, variable colour temperature, Red Boost and 5% Endo mode support different procedures and visual preferences. Selected iSense models add light-head synchronisation, user profiles, ambient lighting and no-touch sterile-handle controls.
A scalable range for different theatre requirements
The Qi family includes premium sensing configurations and focused optical models. Qi60 iSense is the full-feature environmental-sensing model. Qi30 iSense combines a compact premium head with iSense-range sensing and control functions confirmed in its specification. Qi40, Qi30 iLite and Qi20 provide focused iLite configurations for theatres that do not require the full sensing suite.
This modular range allows hospitals to select the capability level required for the room while retaining a consistent Quasar Qi platform.
Built on Brandon Medical’s SMART philosophy
Quasar Qi applies Standardisation, Modularity, Adaptability, Reliability and Technology to surgical lighting.
