Multi-Light Intensity Awareness

A clear warning when multiple high-intensity lights are being used together.

Multi-light systems give teams flexibility, but using more than one high-intensity surgical light on the same working area can create conditions the team should be aware of. Quasar Qi provides an automatic warning under defined multi-light conditions.

What triggers the warning

When more than one Quasar Qi light is operating at high intensity and each light detects an object at approximately one metre, the system provides a warning. The purpose is to increase awareness when multiple lights are being used together at high output.

What the feature does – and does not do

The warning should be described precisely. It is not a direct geometric measurement proving that two light beams physically overlap, and it does not calculate exposure time. It is an awareness feature based on the operating state of multiple lights and object detection around the nominal working distance.

Available across the range

The current technical table specifies Overlapping Beam Warning across Qi60 iSense, Qi30 iSense, Qi40 iLite, Qi30 iLite and Qi20 iLite.

It is a warning function that increases awareness when multiple Quasar Qi lights are operating at high intensity under defined object-detection conditions.

No. It should not be described as direct geometric overlap detection. The warning is based on multiple high-intensity lights and object detection at approximately one metre.

The supplied product definition does not use time as a trigger. It is an operating-condition warning, not a time-exposure calculation.

All five current models are specified with Overlapping Beam Warning.

The supplied material describes a warning to increase user awareness. It should not be described as automatic intensity reduction unless a separate approved specification confirms that behaviour.
